Expedition Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun to Gangotri (240 km / 8–9 hrs)

Morning departure from Dehradun. Scenic drive via Uttarkashi and Harsil valley to Gangotri (3,048m). Guesthouse check-in.

Day 2: Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak (8 km / 5–6 hrs)

Cross Kedar Ganga bridge and enter dense birch (Bhojpatra) forest. Steep climb negotiating Spider Wall trail to reach Bhoj Kharak campsite (3,780m).

Day 3: Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak (4 km / 4–5 hrs)

Trek through high-altitude flora above timberline. Cross open alpine meadows to reach Kedar Kharak (4,280m) facing Mt. Bhrigupanth.

Day 4: Kedar Kharak to Kedartal Lake (5 km / 4–5 hrs)

Navigate rocky moraine ridge and glacial boulders to reach pristine emerald Kedartal Lake (4,750m) reflecting Mt. Thalay Sagar.

Day 5: Kedartal to Bhoj Kharak (9 km / 5 hrs)

Spend morning shooting views of Thalay Sagar wall, then descend back to Bhoj Kharak camp.

Day 6: Bhoj Kharak to Gangotri (8 km / 4 hrs)

Descend the steep Kedar Ganga gorge back to Gangotri. Guesthouse stay.

Day 7: Gangotri to Dehradun (240 km / 8–9 hrs)

Return drive from Gangotri to Dehradun ISBT, arriving by late evening.

Participation Requirements

  • Strong physical endurance and leg stamina mandatory
  • Prior high-altitude trek experience above 4,000m required
  • Comfort walking on steep boulder fields and glacial scree
