Yes! All our expedition leaders hold certifications from renowned institutes like the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) in Uttarkashi and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), and are certified Wilderness First Responders (WFR) with 8–15+ years of high-altitude mountain experience.

Yes! We offer beginner-friendly winter and meadow treks such as Dayara Bugyal, Kedarkantha, and Dodital. These feature snow-covered alpine trails, gradual inclines, comfortable winter campsites, and expert guide support suitable for first-time Himalayan trekkers.
We practice strict Leave-No-Trace (LNT) mountain principles, enforce a zero-single-use plastic policy, deploy eco-friendly dry bio-toilet tents at all campsites, pack out all non-biodegradable waste, and conduct annual trail clean-up drives across fragile Himalayan routes.
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun, DED ~165 km) and nearest major railway stations are Haridwar (HW) and Rishikesh (RKSH ~150 km). From Dehradun or Rishikesh, shared taxis and private cabs operate daily along the scenic Bhagirathi river route to Uttarkashi (approx. 5.5 to 6.5 hours drive). We also arrange direct private pickups from Dehradun airport or railway station.
The Uttarakhand Forest Department enforces a strict daily limit of 150 trekkers inside Gangotri National Park. Permits require Single Window clearance, forest entry fees, bio-toilet fees, and camera permissions. Our Uttarkashi basecamp office handles all official paperwork, forest permits, and inner-line clearances for you.
The Gangotri Shrine opens annually on Akshaya Tritiya (late April / early May) and closes on Bhai Dooj (October/November). The best trekking months for Gaumukh-Tapovan, Kedartal, and Auden's Col are May to June (pre-monsoon) and September to November (post-monsoon with crystal-clear sky views).
Jio and Airtel have strong 4G/5G mobile connectivity in Uttarkashi town, Maneri, and Gangotri shrine. However, once you enter deep trails like Gaumukh-Tapovan, Kedartal, or Har Ki Dun, there is no cellular network. Our team carries satellite phones and VHF radios for emergency team communications.
Uttarkashi town has major ATMs (SBI, HDFC, PNB, Axis) and UPI digital payment acceptance. However, Gangotri and remote trailheads have limited ATM cash availability, so we recommend withdrawing cash in Uttarkashi before starting your trek.
100% safe. We welcome many solo female trekkers on both fixed departure groups and customized private treks. Our groups maintain high female participation, separate clean tents for women, and respectful, background-verified local Pahari staff.
Yes! If you prefer to carry only a light daypack (with water, jacket, and camera), you can offload your main duffel bag (up to 10–12 kg) to our porter/mule support team. You can request offloading during booking or at our Uttarkashi basecamp.
Yes! Our Uttarkashi basecamp maintains a high-quality rental inventory including warm down jackets (-10°C rated), waterproof gaiters, trekking poles, headlamps, and waterproof gloves at nominal daily rental rates.
We collect fresh water from high-altitude natural mountain springs, which is then boiled or treated with water purification tablets before serving. We recommend carrying two 1-liter reusable insulated flasks.
Yes. A signed doctor's medical fitness certificate (confirming blood pressure, respiratory health, and general fitness) is mandatory for all high-altitude treks above 3,500 meters (11,500 ft).
For moderate treks (like Har Ki Dun or Kedartal), you should be able to jog 5 km in under 35 minutes. We recommend 4–6 weeks of cardiovascular training, stair climbing, and leg strengthening prior to arrival.
Key items include moisture-wicking thermals, fleece jacket, wind/waterproof outer shell, sturdy high-ankle trek boots, headlamp, UV-protection sunglasses, personal medication, and reusable insulated water bottles.
You can reserve your slot with a 30% advance deposit. Cancellations made 30 days prior receive an 80% refund or full credit valid for 1 year. For detailed terms, our basecamp team provides full booking vouchers upon reservation.
We serve fresh, hot, and hygienic vegetarian meals rich in carbohydrates and nutrients to aid acclimatization. Daily meals include porridge, eggs, lentils, rotis, rice, green vegetables, soups, and hot energy drinks.
